I grew up hearing the phrase, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. Not only has this rung true for me but I have seen a significantly trimmer waistline.
At the end of June I decided that I was going to do a 2 week raw challenge. My goal was not to lose weight but to start myself on the road to being fit and healthy by having a clean slate. I cut out all gluten, alcohol, dairy and most carbs. I started my challenge by promising myself that I would have a minimum of 2/6 meals raw and I am quite happy to say that I actually did 3/6 meals raw and sometimes 4. As time went on it was easy to snack on veggies or have a smoothie instead of chips or a coffee.
Although my primary goal was not to lose weight I am quite happy to report that I’ve lost 7 lbs and 10 inches 🙂 You know what’s even better than that??? I can feel the muscle in my thighs and my abs! Woot, woot!
I’m on the road to healthy living and I’m enjoying the successes. This is going to be a very fun ride.
